One of the best shopping destination in the world – Orchard Road. The shopping belt offers retail, dining and entertainment choices to please any taste or budget. From luxury brands to high street fashion, and exclusive restaurants to fast food joints.
I started my journey at 11am, walked from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station all the way to Tanglin Plaza, more than 2km stretch of window shopping. Next to Dhoby Ghaut station is Istana Park, the beautiful green park opposite Istana – the official residence and office of the President of Singapore.
Fisrt stop at Plaza Singapore, where kids and teenagers will be able to find everything they want here. Orchard Central, The Roof Garden dining with city view, world’s tallest indoor climbing wall.
313@Somerset offers mid-range popular fashion labels and various food choices at dining precincts. You will be able to find elegant labels and tantalising eateries in Mandarin Gallery and luxury watches at Knightsbridge.
At ION Orchard, home to over 330 retails, eateries and lifestyle stores which includes Prada, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Giorgio Armani. I love the 360 degree view from ION Sky observatory. And of course the iconic building, Tangs Plaza and nearby shopping destinations, Ngee Ann City, Wisma Atria, Paragon and Scotts Square.
It was in the evening when I reached northwest side of Orchard Road, many shops were closing. Delfi Orchard, a place for distinctive boutiques, tailored services for your wedding and special moments. I moved on to Far East Shopping Centre, Palais then Tanglin Shopping Centre for antiques, Tibetan prayer beads, exotic artefacts and jewellery.
I went back to ION Sky for the sunset shots of Singapore skyline and end my trip to Orchard Road at 8.30pm.
